Why You Should Use Disney Plus for Your Kids
Having children can be an amazing experience, but it can also be expensive, especially when it comes to entertainment! Luckily, Disney has come up with the perfect solution with their new streaming service, Disney Plus. With Disney Plus, you can access all of your favorite Disney characters and their stories in one place, plus create unique profiles for your children so they won’t see anything they shouldn’t! I’ll go over some of the best reasons to use Disney Plus in this post.
What is Disney Plus?
Disney Plus is a new streaming service created by Disney. It offers subscriptions for $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year, with no commitment or cancellation fees, according to its website . The service includes all your favorite cartoons and Marvel films, along with exclusive content that can only be found on Disney Plus. Shows include Falcon and Winter Soldier , starring Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Daniel Brühl as Helmut Zemo , Yvonne Strahovski as Ana Jarvis, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13 , Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones , Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark and Hayley Atwell Jr., one of comic book’s original Black Panthers.
Subscription Costs
In exchange for a subscription, you’ll get access to a plethora of original content from an array of hit TV shows and films. If you already have Netflix or Hulu+, then you know what type of programming to expect—and that it’s more than worth a subscription fee. If your kids are into any TV shows or movies, then they’ll love how many titles they can watch on Disney Plus. But remember: if your kid is still young enough to enjoy those types of videos, they’re not too young to learn about internet safety.
How Much Will Each Show Cost?
I haven’t read many of the press releases that have come out about Disney+, but I did read one that mentioned pricing. The entry point will be $6.99 per month, with individual channels costing more—but not by much. The movies are priced at $5 to rent and $20 to buy, which is pretty standard for premium video content. Note that while you’ll get access to all of these originals without a cable or satellite subscription, I’m not sure how long it will take before they become available on other platforms like Roku or Amazon Prime Video.
Pros of Subscribing
If you have kids, chances are you’re familiar with all of them. Disney channel is one of their favorite TV networks, and it’s hard to even get your phone out when they’re around because they love playing with it so much. If that sounds like your situation, then you need to consider getting them a subscription to disney plus! Aside from all of the kid-friendly content on demand in one place, there are also some great original series coming out too. The Mandalorian is slated to release in late 2019, and will be executive produced by Jon Favreau (of Star Wars fame). It has already gotten rave reviews after its premiere at D23 Expo in July.
Cons of Subscribing
One of the main things to keep in mind when thinking about subscribing to Disney’s new streaming service is that it comes with a monthly fee. Some may see that as a downside to signing up. On top of paying every month, if you have more than one kid, you have to pay multiple fees. Depending on how much your children love watching videos, you might be worried about constantly running out of space. If so, consider skipping an actual subscription and using other subscription-based services like Netflix or Hulu instead. You won’t have access to all of Disney’s content but still have some options for kids videos.
