 THE MAGIC OF HAR KI DUN VALLEY

DAY 1 – Dehradun to Sankari

A short road trip from Dehradun can be taken to Sankari. The distance between both places is 200 km which takes approximately 8-9 hours. 

After reaching Sankari, a number of options are available in the form of hotels to spend the night. 

DAY 2 – Sankri to Taluka to Osla/Seema

12 km away from Sankari is the small village of Taluka. If you are not here by your personal vehicles, jeeps are available for a better experience. 

While driving through the road you will pass through some of the fascinating dense forests. And finally, after reaching Seema your trek starts! Right of the Supin river is the way to reach Seema from Taluka. To reach Seema you have to climb wooden bridges.

 DAY 3 – Seema/Osla to Har ki dun

After reaching Seema, you will find a massive bridge over the Supin river that will take you to a steep that you need to climb. After climbing the steep another bridge over a stream will welcome you. The bridge will take one hour of your time but the hard work is worth it. As you go further the trekking trail is visible for another 4 km and the road will take you to the lush green meadows filled with beauty and nature. You can spend your time admiring nature for a couple of minutes. Further, you will encounter Kalkati Dhar, after which the trek is graded a bit easier.

The beauty is doubled and Hata’s peak is visible. As a matter of fact, Har ki dun is situated at the foot of Hata peak. After reaching the Har ki dun, you will experience beauty at its best. You can camp in the camping ground for the night, lighting a bonfire and enjoying the warmth of a fire in the midst of a cold night. 

DAY 4 – Har ki dun to Maninda tal

DAY 5 – Har ki dun to Osla/Seema

DAY 6 – Seema – Taluka – Sankri 

In the morning you can travel back from Seema to Taluka and then to Sankri by a jeep or car. You can stay in Sankri at night. 

DAY 7 – Sankri to Dehradun and on

Well the journey had to end someday. From Sankri you can travel back to Dehradun and further. So what if the journey ended? The memories are still with you. After all, it’s the memories that last.
