Movies coming out in 2022 | New films from Marvel, DC, and Netflix
We can expect to see Black Adam, Spider-Man, Thor, and Batman in the year 2022, as well as Jurassic Park, Knives Out 2, Avatar 2, and even some original movies.
The year 2022 is the year for sequels (again)
2022 will be a big one at the box office as pandemic-delayed sequels and blockbusters finally hit theaters. As DC and Marvel unveil their latest flicks, including Batman, Thor, Doctor Strange, and the Black Panther crew, along with Knives Out, Hocus Pocus, Top Gun, and Avatar sequels, we’ll witness not just one but two Batmans. However, there are a few original movies as well.
So are we heading back to the theater to see blockbusters in 2022? Or will we be watching movies on our sofas instead?

Knives Out 2 (2022)
Knives Out is an American mystery film directed by Rian Johnson and written by him and his wife, Karthryn. It stars Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, Lakeith Stanfield, and Christopher Plummer. The film is produced by Ram Bergman and distributed by Lionsgate.
The film is a whodunit murder mystery set in the present day. It follows the investigation into the death of Harlan Thrombey (Plummer), a wealthy patriarch of a large family. Benoit Blanc (Craig), a famous detective, is called in to The film is a remake
The American mystery film Knives Out 2 is a sequel to Knives Out (2019). Marking Daniel Craig’s return to the role of Benoit Blanc, a master detective, Rian Johnson directed the film, and Ram Bergman produced it for T-Street Productions. The cast consists of Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr, Kate Hudson, Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick, and Ethan Hawke.
Spiderhead (2022)
Spiderhead is a movie set in a dystopian future, and it’s based on the short story by George Saunders. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller, and Junnee Smollett. The movie was directed by Joseph Kosinski, and Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote the script.

Morbius (2022)
Sony has announced that it is delaying the release of Morbius, the film about Marvel’s vampire anti-hero, for a third time. This time, the release has been pushed back from July 31st to November 2020.
This follows Sony’s decision to delay the film in January, after putting it on hold twice already. The first time, the release was pushed back from July 10th to July 31st.
Then, in January, Sony delayed it again, pushing it back from July 31st to October 4th. Now, it has been pushed back again, this time to November 2020. No specific reason was given for the latest delay.
Dr. Morbius was ailing with a rare blood disease and determined to save others from the same fate, and he made a desperate gamble. But unfortunately, what appears to be a complete success ends up being a remedy worse than the disease. Sony delayed it again in January after putting it on hold twice already.
Ambulance (April 8, 2022)
Two robbers rob an ambulance after their heist goes awry.
A 2022 American action thriller directed and produced by Michael Bay, Ambulance stars Albert Finney as the protagonist. This movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Eiza González, and tells the story of two adopted siblings who hatch a bank robbery and commandeer an ambulance in order to rob two first responders.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (April 8, 2022)
This film is the sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog (2020). Ben Schwartz returns as Sonic’s voice, and the rest of the cast consists of James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Idris Elba, and Jim Carrey.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (April 15, 2022)
This upcoming fantasy film, Fantastic Beasts:
David Yates directed The Secrets of Dumbledore, and J. K. Rowling and Steve Kloves wrote the screenplay. The film is the sequel to Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018), the third film in the Fantastic Beasts film series, and the eleventh overall in the Wizarding World series. The film’s ensemble cast includes Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, Katherine Waterston, and Mads Mikkelsen.
Top Gun: Maverick (May 27, 2022)
Top Gun: Maverick is a sequel to Top Gun (1986’s). Joseph Kosinski directs it from a script by Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer, and Christopher McQuarrie. Tom Cruise plays the title role, as do Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer. They all reprised their roles from the first film—also starring Aretha Franklin, Adrian Grenier, and Tony Hale.
Jurassic World: Dominion (June 10, 2022)
Colin Trevorrow directs the upcoming American science fiction action film Jurassic World Dominion. He also wrote the screenplay with Emily Carmichael, based on a story by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.
The film is a sequel to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018).
The Black Phone (June 24, 2022)
In 2021, Scott Derrickson and Jason Blum directed a supernatural horror film based on Joe Hill’s 2004 short story of the same name. Written by Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill, Derrickson is the movie director. During the movie, Mason Thames plays an abducted child who has the ability to communicate with the past victims of his kidnapper, played by Ethan Hawke.
