MacBook Pro 14-Inch and 16-Inch
M1 Pro and M1 Max take unique M1 architecture to new heights for the first time; they bring a chip (SOC) architecture system to a Pro notebook. Both have more CPU cores, more GPU cores, and more unified memory than the M1. In addition to upgraded media engines with a powerful neural engine and ProRes support for supercharged machine learning, the M1 Pro and M1 Max allow professionals to do things they have never been able to do before.
Scary fast
The M1 Pro takes the exceptional performance of the M1 architecture to a whole new level for Pro users. Even the most ambitious projects quickly have 10 CPU cores, 16 GPU cores. Easily operated with a 16-core neural engine and dedicated encode and decode media engines supporting H.264, HEVC, and ProRes codecs.
M1 Max
Frightening fast
The M1 Max is the most powerful chip built for a Pro notebook, with 10 CPU cores, 32 GPU cores, and a 16-core neural engine. It provides twice as fast graphics processing and doubles the M1 Pro’s memory bandwidth. It is a dedicated media engine for decoding and two – twice as fast video encoding for encoding—M1 Max two ProRes accelerators for higher multistream performance.
Design
Apple has updated the MacBook Pro 14-Inch and 16-Inch models. The MacBook 14-inch model will replace the current 13.3-inch model when the 16-inch model replaces the existing 16-inch version.

For the rebuilt 14-inch model, the overall casing size will likely be similar to the 13-inch MacBook Pro. The 14-inch model size of the display increases, so do the bezels on the top and side of the machine.
The current 13-inch MacBook Pro
there may be a slight increase in physical size. When Apple switched from the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro to the 16.1-inch MacBook Pro, the body size went from 13.75 x 9.48 inches to 14.09 x 9.68 inches, and we saw something like the 14-inch MacBook Pro.
16 inch MacBook Pro
The two new models are expecting to have some significant design changes. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the new MacBook Pro models (MacBook Pro 14-Inch and 16-Inch) will have a flat design “like the iPhone 12”, without curved edges like the current model.
The plane design may not deviate too much from the current plan. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the upgraded models will “look” like the current model but show “minor design changes,” so we’ll have to wait and see how significant these changes are to the overall design.
The updated MacBook Pro models will use the same hit pipe design as the current 16-inch MacBook Pro model. Apple has reformed the heating system of the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Increases the heat pipe size adds thermal pads and increases the size of the heat sink by 35 percent.
This new thermal system will increase computing power for improved airflow and heat management, which sufficiently indicates the performance of Apple silicon chips.
Port
Even if the chassis updates are minor, other changes to the works will refresh 2021 in a big update. Kuo believes that Apple is going to add additional ports to MacBook Pro models. However, he did not specify which ports could be.

Apple 2016 launched a new MacBook Pro design 2016 that removes all ports except the USB-C port and the mm.5mm headphone jack. But earlier models from 2012 to 2015 have an ag MagSafe connector, a Thunderbolt port, a USB port, an HDMI port, an SD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Next-generation MacBook Pro models expect to add an SD card reader as a port, which provides an easy way for people to transfer pictures taken with cameras, drones, and other similar devices.

It’s probably not going to see us return to USB. Kuo said the new machines will have enough ports so that most users “don’t need to buy extra dongles.”
No-touch bar
Apple introduced a touch bar on Macs in 2016. It provided a small OLED display where were physical function keys. Apple had grand plans for the Touch Bar and envisioned an adaptive mini-display that provided customizable controls and a variety of functions on a per-app basis, but customers never caught the Touch Bar.

Kuo says the touch bar will be removed in 2021 MacBook Pro models and replaced with a physical function key. Gurman confirmed that Apple had tested versions of the MacBook Pro so that there is no touch bar.
MacBook Pro 14 and 16-inch Display
Gurman believes the new MacBook Pro models will improve display in the form of “bright, high-contrast panels.” Apple Analyst believes that the updated machines will be the first Mac with a mini-LED display. Will mark a significant improvement in display quality.
When Apple switches to mini-LEDs for the 2021 MacBook Pro model, the displays can use about 10,000 LEDs, each under 200 microns. Mini-LED technology will allow a slimmer and lighter design. At the same time, many will offer the same benefits as LEDs, such as improved wide color range, high contrast, and dynamic range, and true black.
The upcoming 14- and 16-inch MacBook professionals expect display resolutions of 3024 x 1964 and 3456 x 2234, respectively. These resolutions increase the pixel density to about 250 pixels per inch, allowing native 2X retina for sharper potential images.
According to display analyst Ross Young, updated MacBook Pro models may also display a 120Hz “ProMotion” refresh rate. The proMotion offers a variable refresh rate from 24Hz (10Hz on iPhone) to 120Hz, and at the highest refresh rate, it turns into smooth scrolling and gameplay with other benefits. Variable refresh rate saves battery life and allows the display to save power when no higher frame rate is required.
