Kylin Mini V2 RTA Review
The Kylin Mini V2 RTA by Vandy Vape is the follow to the initial Kylin Mini RTA. It’s an all-in-one RTA that is, however, Vandy Vape has switched to firestick an airflow that is top-of-the-line with this version. While the first model had an elongated half-pipe deck that allowed an airflow for the coil up to 180 degrees The V2 comes with an expanded half-pipe deck, which claims to blast your coil the crew kodi by air at the 270-degree angle.
The design has also been updated and bevels have been added to the cap’s top, the airflow control ring, and base giving this model a much more robust appearance compared to the original.

Design & Build Quality
Its Kylin Mini V2 RTA has a 24.5mm diameter at its base and measures 46mm tall from its base up to the top 810 drip tips made of delrin.
I got a stainless steel model. It’s also available in matte blackand frosted grey rainbow, gun metal, and gold.
On the base , it features an extended, fixed gold-plated 510 pin.
The control ring of airflow features honeycomb airflow on both sides , in 7 rows in 3 rows. The AFC features hard stops when it is fully open and completely closed. There are also features that help in control of the airflow. The AFC offers a great resistance when it comes to adjusting the airflow.
The cap on top also features an ergonomic knurling for grip, and is removed to expose the ports for filling.
Two fill ports are large and they are situated inside a deep trough that is recessed. It was easy to fill the tank, even using the nozzle that is very large.
The Kylin Mini V2 RTA has the option of using two tanks made of glass. The bubble tank can provide 5ml capacity of liquid and the straight glass has the capacity of 3ml.
The inside of the chamber is domed. On the exterior of the chamber it is branded “Kylin Mini II”.
Overall, there’s no reason to be unhappy with the construction and quality of the Kylin Mini V2 RTA. The threads are all smooth and it’s an excellent and comfortable tank. It’s a visually very standard-looking tank with knurling to grip, which doubles as a design element. It’s better looking when you use straight glass I think. However, you do have the choice of straight or bubble glass, which is the style you like.
Build Deck
The most notable characteristic of the deck is the extended half-pipe that is U shape and features honeycomb airflow holes along the sides, and all the way down. The coil will be placed within the center of the U shape deck, and air will enter your coil both from sides as well as underneath; Vandy Vape says air hits the coil at around 270 degrees.
It’s a deck that is post-less which means that the coil leads have to be cut before insertion of the coil. The position of the holes for the coil leads will also require your coil to be wrapped counterclockwise to allow your coil’s legs to drop down straight. You can wrap them clockwise however, you’ll need to bend your coil to straighten it, which results in the coil’s leads being bent in the diagonal. It’s not a problem, I wrap every coil clockwise, therefore I straightened the coil and placed the coil’s legs in a diagonal position instead of wrapping counter-clockwise. Just thought of mentioning this however.
The grub screws that tighten on your coil legs are Allen screw heads and they are on the outer part of the half pipe deck. There’s two on either side. There are spare screws for grubs. that are provided are flat-head should you choose to use the screws that come with them.
How to build on the Kylin Mini V2 RTA
The process of building on the Kylin Mini V2 RTA is very simple. Vandy Vape provides a coil leg cutting tool that suggests the cutting of leads to 7mm. The reason behind this is because the coil has to be placed high on the deck so that the air that enters on the sides actually hits the coil. If your coil is positioned too low, air will simply pass through the coil, and leave a sour taste.
First, you’ll need to reduce your coil leads to 7mm. Then , loosen the grub screws located on each end of the deck. Then insert your coil’s legs into the holes. Finally, tighten with the screws for grubs. The end of the coil has aligned against the edge of the half pipe deck.
You can then straighten the coil until it sits on the deck. You can then dry-fire your coil to eliminate all hot spots.
Wicking
After threading your cotton into the coil, you are able to cut the tails in length and then thin them to your preferences. Personally, I don’t like having them going to the end of the deck, which is where there’s a tiny ledge. I cut them 1 millimeter higher than the ledge to allow juice to flow into the holes for wicking, without the cotton cutting it off.
There aren’t any slots for your wick tails to get tucked into. The wick tails have to be soaked in some juice before you can use them and then gently put the wick on the deck’s wall. Don’t try to squash the wick to make it fit; simply gently place it where you’d like it to be.
In the end, you must put the deck in the chamber for bells. If you align the chimney with the wicking holes, the deck will snap in place, and you can attach the base.
I’ve read that you must remove the deck from your mod in order to screw the tank back on, because the deck spins freely. However, in reality it’s not the scenario. I place the mod’s deck in place, then turn the mod over, align the ports for wicking and wicking and push them in and then flip my mod upside down to attach the base to the remainder of the tank.
Performance
One of the first things I observed when using Kylin Mini V2 is the smoothness of the airflow. Honeycomb intake on the airflow control ring is a great way to smooth the airflow with no turbulence.
It’s very and airy once the airflow has been completely open. I have found that the halfway point to close it was the best way for me to smoke. If you limit it to just one column of air holes it will give you an unrestricted, semi-restricted vapor.
I have installed an insulated clapton coil that was fused and the flavor is delicious thanks to the Kylin Mini V2 RTA. Personally, I don’t think that there is a lot of air hitting the coil from below. Because it is the top of the airflow, whenever you inhale , the air will be going the shortest distance up to the mouth. That’s through the side holes of the deck.
No matter how insignificant I believe the air holes on the deck, however, it does not detract from the Kylin Mini V2 RTA having a great flavor. However, it does suggest that it’s important to make sure your coil is in the air, so make sure you use the 7mm coil leg length Vandy Vape suggests.
To check this out I put an air coil on the deck, and the flavor was quite muted and that’s why I don’t think that the lower airflow holes have much to do with your overall taste.
Verdict
Overall, the Kylin Mini V2 is an extremely good single-coil RTA. I’ve been enjoying it with just a 21700 mod which with a build of 0.32ohms lasts my entire day with one battery, and with excellent taste.
The airflow is very smooth, and the deck is simple to build upon (make sure to adhere to the length of 7mm for coil legs to ensure optimal taste) as well as the quality of construction is excellent as well.
The filling process is easy even with a hefty nozzle because of the deep well that the ports for filling are located within.
Initially, I believed that the placement of the holes to attach the legs of your coil was likely to cause problems as they are positioned for an anti-clockwise coil. However, due to the length you cut the legs of your coil and the length of the coil, it makes no difference. It is possible to straighten the coil by tightening screws which will adjust the legs perfectly.
I’m not able to find any faults in Kylin Mini V2. Kylin Mini V2. If you’re in search of an all-in-one RTA that’s simple to build upon and offers amazing flavor, then this does the job perfectly.
