Selection Process
Candidates should be selected in two round to attain the job in IBPS Clerk Exam.

Exam Pattern
For Preliminary Examination
- Prelim paper consist of three sections i.e., English language, Numerical Aptitude, Reasoning Aptitude.
- There are 100 questions of 100 marks.
- Time duration is – 1 Hour
- There are 20 minutes for each section.
- English section consists 30 questions of 30 marks, Reasoning Ability consist 35 questions of 35 marks, Numerical Ability consists 35 questions of 35 marks.
For Mains Examination
- Mains Exam consists of four sections i.e., English language, Numerical Aptitude, Reasoning Aptitude/ Computer Aptitude, General/ Financial Awareness.
- Mains Exam consists 190 questions of 200 marks.
- Time duration is – 160 minutes.
- Earlier, the Computer Aptitude and Reasoning AbilitySection used to be conducted separately. But, as per the recent update by IBPS, both these sections have been amalgamated together constituting a total of 50 Marks.
- English and General/ Financial Awareness completes in 35 minutes
- Numerical Ability and Reasoning Aptitude/ Computer Aptitude completes in 45 minutes.
Growth And Promotion
Candidates get a good growth opportunity in IBPS Clerk job. Minimum two-year service is required for promotion. After two years of service, IBPS Clerks gets promoted once in every two years.
Bank Clerk → Officier / Assistant Manager → Manager → Senior Manager → Chief Manager → Asst. General Manager → Deputy General Manager → General Manager.
Merit based process – It requires candidates to have JAIIB and CAIIB Diploma from Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
Normal Process – In this process candidates get promoted on the basis of experience, seniority and also written exam conducted internally.
Salary and Allowances
- Initial Basic Pay –Rs 11765 with a yearly increment of Rs 655 for three years.
- Start from Rs 13730 with a yearly increment of Rs 815 for the next three years.
- Rs 16175 with a yearly increment of Rs 980 for the next four years.
- Start from Rs 20095 with a yearly increment of Rs 1145 for the next 7 years.
- Rs 28110 with any yearly increment of Rs 2120 for next one year.
- Start from Rs 30230 with a yearly increment of Rs 1310 for next one year.
- Rs 31540 (maximum Basic Pay).
- The minimum basic pay of an IBPS clerk is Rs. 11765/- and the maximum goes till Rs. 31540.
Allowances
HRA (House Rent Allowance) – HRA is depends on the location of job posting. It is 8.5 percent of the Basic Pay for Metro Cities, 7.5 percent of the Basic Pay for cities having a population of more than 5 lakhs, and 6.5 percent of the Basic Pay for other cities.
DA (Dearness Allowance) – DA is 4 % of the basic pay. It depends on the CPI and is revise after every three months.
Medical Allowance – It is fix in IBPS Clerk job is Rs.2000. It is paid once a year.
Travel Allowance – The official tours and travels will be reimburse by the bank.
