CBSE Class 11 is the last year of school before a person graduates. It can be a very difficult time for a student because they are preparing to leave their friends and teachers behind. They will also have to start thinking about what they want to do in college or university. Many students feel nervous during this period because it is such an important point in their life, but there are many ways that parents can help them get through this stage.
It’s always important for parents to show support and care for their children when they’re feeling down about something as big as graduating from high school, so here are some ideas: – Offer your child words of encouragement by telling them how proud you are of them; remind them that things will work and help them follow these tips:
1. Get an early start:
You have a lot to study in class 11 if you have chosen humanities or commerce. However, getting up early in the morning and studying faster during the day is always a great way to get ahead of time and complete your revision before the exam date arrives. Try this now and see how much difference it makes in your performance!
2. Clear your core concepts :
Get clarity of all subjects that you are weak in. Make notes and read them over and over again. Learn everything that you can from your studies, but don’t let it become a drag on your mind.
3. Time management:
Study smartly! Don’t try to study everything at one go or during the last few weeks before the exam date arrives. Plan out your time wisely for each subject based on how much time you have left until the exams begin.
4. Practice makes perfect:
Test yourself often with mock exams, if possible, during preparation. Try getting past papers of previous years’ Board Exams to see what types of questions will likely be asked in this year’s exams as well – this way you’ll know what areas need more focus and what areas can be covered later.
5. Study your most difficult subjects first:
For many students, the science stream is the most difficult area to manage in terms of time and learning new concepts. Plan out your daily study hours for each subject, with the bulk of them going towards biology-chemistry-physics (BCP) during the first few weeks so as to give yourself enough time at the end to cover up other subjects such as English and maths.
6. Take care of yourself:
Plan out light workouts for both your body and mind! When you are studying hard it is easy to lose sleep which can affect not only your health but also how well you do on exams day. Cheer up by watching a favourite movie, spending time socialising with friends and family.
7. Pace yourself:
The pain comes in the last phase of the year when you need to revise everything, tackle a gazillion exams and finish your projects, all within a week or two. So practice time management from the very beginning by scheduling out study hours and giving yourself some breaks between assignments so that you don’t get overworked while studying towards the end of the year.
8. Get everybody involved:
Make sure your parents know what exactly is on the syllabus for each class, ask them about their expectations from you and get them involved in finding resources such as books and other online material which will help you learn better. If possible, ask teachers if they can recommend any stuff that might come handy! Stay positive and work hard. The clearer your concepts, the easier !
9. Accept help when offered:
While you may think that you are better off studying things on your own initially, there are days when all of us just lose hope. When this happens, try asking someone who has been through the same course as you to lend a helping hand and tutor you for a while ! It will go a long way in clearing your concepts about the subject and give you some good insights as well!
10. Stay Organised(Functional Binder):
Keep everything organized. While it might make sense to keep things “In-Organised” so that they get fresh into your memory every year – It just doesn’t work out like that. You need strategies and tools to stay organised on daily basis and up-to-date.
